Sharing a homebrew with my dad - also an alumnus, but past his rugby playing days (so he says) - after the Colorado College student-alumni rugby match, October 2013.
Bottles of Third Half, my first "labeled" beer made openly available (for free, Mr. IRS agent) for public consumption at my college's annual student-alumni rugby match in October 2013.
This beer got plenty of compliments from the rugby club and was thoroughly enjoyed. I could have done a bit better though. Mouth feel, aroma, and aftertaste were all on the more bitter and astringent side of the Old Ale spectrum and I would have liked more balance. Bottle conditioning an extra week would have improved carbonation and possibly head retention. All in all, a solid and enjoyable beer - as attested to by ruggers who were not yet drunk; still, a few shades shy of excellent.
