Kettle as HLT loses much more temperature for strike water than anticipated (166F was not enough for 150F mash temp). Had to add additional 6 quarts boiling water to compensate. Probably oversparged, resulting in lower original gravity than intended, so added additional 10 oz cane sugar for a total of 14 oz cane sugar in the recipe (still well under 10% of fermentables, so I'm okay with that). Pull starter off of stir plate earlier in day if started night before, needs more time to settle for decanting. Liberty hops were 4.8% instead of 4%, so bitterness is possibly higher than anticipated; check for this when tasting.
