Recipe conforms to the Specialty Beer style.
Brewed this as a batch for my Wife who says - "I don't like beer". She likes Linie's Summer Shandy. I combined what looked like the best ideas from a bunch of other recipes.
Mashed at 124 for 20 minutes then at 156 for 60. Sparged with 195 degree water.
I ended up boiling for an extra 10-15 minutes because the volume was higher than I wanted and the gravity was real low when I first checked. I thought boiling out some water would raise it a bit. Then I figured out that this was caused by the sample being hot. Once I let the sample cool it got more realistic. After I cooled the wort, racked it and tested it again, I was a little surprised when the OG was 1.066. I wonder it this could have been enhanced by the lactose which won't ferment out.
